Udhampur :- In a shocking incident highlighting the deteriorating law and order situation in Udhampur, a young man was seriously injured after being attacked with sharp weapons in broad daylight. The incident occurred at the busy Salathia Chowk, one of the main intersections in Udhampur district, where criminals brazenly wielded weapons without any fear of law enforcement.
The audacity of the criminals was evident as they chased their victim, identified as Saurabh Singh Rathore from Umla, through the crowded marketplace. The victim tried to seek refuge in a nearby shop, but the assailants followed him inside and launched a brutal attack, leaving him severely injured. While one of the attackers was apprehended by the crowd, the others managed to escape from the scene.
The injured victim was immediately rushed to the Associated Hospital Medical College Udhampur for treatment. DSP Headquarters Prahlad Singh, who arrived at the scene, informed that an investigation into the matter is underway. He confirmed that while one attacker has been arrested, search operations are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects, who will face legal consequences once caught. This incident has raised serious concerns among local residents about the increasing boldness of criminals in Udhampur city.
