Heretics Sticking Together
Regardless of who you ask, the VALORANT betting favourite for VCT EMEA Kickoff is undisputable – Team Heretics.
As the only team to stay together from last season, this formidable roster looks to run it back for the coming season, now packing a new performance coach. As one of the youngest teams from last season, here’s a reminder as to what this team achieved last season:

VCT EMEA – A Fnatic Final?
Indeed, there’s one team which has everyone’s attention. Last season, Fnatic was trying to pick up the pieces after an incredible 2023 season. While Fnatic prevailed at regional VALORANT tournaments, they struggled massively on the international stage.
Correspondingly, after a tough season, Fnatic made some hard decisions in the off-season with headline roster changes. Moreover, over the off-season, Fnatic parted ways with their star duelist “Derke” and their temporary stand-in “hiro”.
Instead, they’ve signed a North American World Champion in Austin “crashies” Roberts and a curious rookie in “kaajak” as “Leo” continues to sit on the bench.
Despite all of this, Fnatic is still strongly favoured by the VALORANT odds due to their reputation and pure gunskill.
Team Vitality – A New Superteam?
In our opinion, Vitality is the most exciting team to look out for at the VCT EMEA Kickoff. Last season, after an impressive improvement, the team managed to make it to VALORANT Champions only to finish 9-12th.
With a vested interest to compete at the highest level, Vitality kept their best players in “Kicks”, “Sayf” and “trexx” while signing two of the best VALORANT players in the world:
- Felipe “Less” Basso – a former World Champion for LOUD, “Less” has always been one of the most consistent players on the team. As a Controller player, few competitors match his ability to clutch and hold down a site.
- Nikita “Derke” Sirmitev – one of the best Duelists in the world, this former Fnatic star has dominated the region for years on end helping him stay on top of the region in 2024.
The only other European duelist to match “Derke” was “Sayf”, and now they’re on the same team.
Bearing this in mind, this explosive energy has us thrilled to see what this team can accomplish at this opening tournament.
