12.08 Betfair Exchange Claremont Novices’ Hurdle (Listed) (GBB Race)
HONKY TONK HIGHWAY shaped nicely on her handicap/seasonal debut when second at Warwick, and given she won at this course on her bumper debut, she’s of interest. EPINEPHRINE is a very interesting stable debutant for Venetia Williams, having shaped well on her sole start in France and is feared most.
Tips: HONKY TONK HIGHWAY & EPINEPHRINE
12.40 Betfair Supports Racing With Pride Mares’ Handicap Hurdle
LARCHMONT LASS returned to winning ways with a smooth success at Wincanton, and a repeat of that performance should see her very difficult to beat. DOLLAR DOLLAR was pulled up on her chase debut, but she goes well on testing ground, and she looks well handicapped on her handicap debut. I can see her running very well.
Tips: LARCHMONT LASS & DOLLAR DOLLAR
13.15 Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle
SUPER SURVIVOR will relish conditions, and both his good record when fresh and his record over hurdles, which reads 1212 from four starts, make him a definite player for his in-form stable. Last year’s winner OPERATION MANNA and the well-handicapped HENRI THE SECOND are others to consider.
Tips: SUPER SURVIVOR, OPERATION MANNA & HENRI THE SECOND
13.50 Betfair Henry VIII Novices’ Chase (Grade 1)
L’EAU DU SUD has been impressive in both chase starts and is the one to beat. SOUL ICON could be allowed a soft lead, though, and it’s interesting to see connections take aim at this contest rather than an easier target. If he jumps well on the front end, he could be hard to peg back and shouldn’t be such big odds. Irish raiders DOWN MEMORY LANE and TOUCH ME NOT cannot be ruled out either.
Tips: L’EAU DU SUD, SOUL ICON, DOWN MEMORY LANE & TOUCH ME NOT
14.15 Betfair Plays Different Handicap Hurdle
Grade 2 Kingwell Hurdle winner NEMEAN LION takes a huge drop in grade ahead of his return and was impressive on his reappearance last season. Far from disgraced when sixth in the Champion Hurdle, the top weight makes plenty of appeal. ROYAL WAY & ALTOBELLI are included as cover.
Tips: NEMEAN LION, ROYAL WAY & ALTOBELLI
15.00 Betfair Tingle Creek Chase (Grade 1)
Last year’s winner, JONBON, is fancied to win the Tingle Creek for the second time. Nicky Henderson’s top-class chaser is unbeaten in four starts at this course and has a really good record on soft ground. He’s already beaten most of today’s opponents and is impossible to oppose.
Tips: JONBON
