12.08 Betfair Supports Safer Gambling Week Newton Novices’ Hurdle
ROADLESSTRAVELLED has made a bright start under rules, winning both of his hurdle outings, and has the potential to really make his mark at this level, so he’s definitely one I want on side. I can see him having the qualities to take the rise in grade in his stride and remain unbeaten.
Tips: ROADLESSTRAVELLED
12.40 Bet At Your Best With Betfair Handicap Chase
EDEN DE HOUX hasn’t been seen for nearly a year, but he’s only 3lb above his last winning mark and could go well. NETTYWELL’s winning run came to an end at Carlisle, but he cannot be ruled out, while the hat trick-seeking HOME FREE and three-time winner GALUNGGUNG are others to consider in a competitive race.
Tips: EDEN DE HOUX, NETYWELL, HOME FREE & GALUNGGUNG
13.15 Betfair Racing Podcasts Handicap Hurdle
STEEL ALLY only found stablemate Lump Sum too strong when second in the Welsh Champion Hurdle, and with that run under his belt, he should make a bold bid. BEAT THE BAT chased home Dysart Enos when last seen and could be very well handicapped off a mark of 132.
Tips: STEEL ALLY & BEAT THE BAT
13.50 Betfair Exchange Graduation Chase
Having twice made the frame in Grade 1 company, including when second in the Grade 1 Mildmay at Aintree last time out, IROKO has a good opportunity to make a winning return to action. DEAFENING SILENCE has won two of his three starts and is a very interesting chase debutant.
Tips: IROKO & DEAFENING SILENCE
14.30 Betfair Stayers’ Handicap Hurdle
SHOOT FIRST should strip fitter from his comeback run at Galway and must be respected. Grade 2 winner KERRYHILL could go well on handicap debut, while the Skelton in-form duo CATCH HIM DERRY and DOYEN QUEST should also feature in the outcome. I’ll cover top-weight TWIG, too, who is on the same mark as when second in the Ultima Handicap Chase.
Tips: SHOOT FIRST, KERRYHILL, CATCH HIM DERRY, DOYEN QUEST & TWIG
15.05 Betfair Chase
I cannot help but feel as though the Betfair Chase is AHOY SENOR’s for the taking. He shaped up encouragingly when third on his return in the Old Roan Chase and he’s interestingly the top rated runner in the field. If he can produce his best, such as his second to Shishkin in last season’s Aintree Bowl, he should be going close. King George winner HEWICK is another to note.
Tips: AHOY SENOR & HEWICK
