Business of Esports – New IESF Partnership Emphasizes Health

Late last month, the International Esports Federation (IESF) announced it had partnered with FitGMR. This deal saw the two sides host activities and workshops to emphasize health and well-being during the recently held IESF World Esports Championships in Indonesia.

FitGMR hosted daily workouts to assist athletes with their physical and mental health. During the closing ceremonies, the company also held an all-in-one workshop to show participants how to “FitGMR at home.”

“This is an incredible way to end 2022. Our research and work with professional esports organizations over the last few years are the foundation of the FitGMR app that we released at the beginning of the year. Since then, we’ve introduced the concept of what it means to be a fit gamer to colleges and K-12 programs around the country,” said Kristin Anderson, the CEO of FitGMR. “To be a part of esports athletes’ well-being, and sharing the connection between mental and physical health on the world’s global esports stage is so exciting and rewarding. We’re grateful to the IESF for their commitment to the wellbeing of players around the world.“

The IESF World Esports Championships were recently held in Bali from December 1st to December 12th. The North Macedonian team ended up placing first in the competition, earning them half of the event’s $100,000 prize pool.
