Parlay Pick: Texas -12.5 vs Arizona State

Kicking off our College Football Playoff parlay, we’ve got the red-hot Longhorns. UT enters this matchup on an absolute tear, going 25-5 in their last 30 games. Their playoff opener showed what they’re capable of, as they steamrolled Clemson with 494 total yards and 38 points, including a bruising 292 yards on the ground across 48 rushing attempts.

Texas brings an elite defense into this one, ranking in the top fifteen nationally in key metrics like EPA per rush allowed and EPA per pass allowed. They’ve been lockdown all year, allowing over 20 points just three times this season – exactly what you want to see when laying double digits.

The key matchup pits Texas’s top-ranked defense against Arizona State’s star back Cam Skattebo, who’s piled up 1,568 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns this season. But here’s the thing – the Longhorns haven’t allowed a 100-yard rusher since November 9 and just held Clemson to a measly 76 rushing yards.

Steve Sarkisian’s offense gives them multiple ways to cover this spread. Their ground game bullied Clemson for nearly 300 yards, while quarterback Quinn Ewers leads a passing attack that keeps defenses honest and prevents them from loading the box.

Parlay Pick: Ohio State vs Oregon Over 55.5

Building our parlay, we turn to what should be a shootout in Pasadena. The first meeting between these teams was an offensive clinic, producing 63 points and nearly 1,000 yards of fireworks. Both quarterbacks were dialed in – Dillon Gabriel hit 23 of 34 passes for 341 yards while Will Howard was even sharper, completing 28 of 35 for 326 yards.

These receiving corps are absolutely stacked. Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith and Emeka Egbuka combined for 19 catches and 193 yards in their previous matchup, while Oregon’s Evan Stewart and Tez Johnson racked up 224 receiving yards. With playmakers like this, points should come in bunches.

The neutral Rose Bowl setting should help both offenses operate cleanly. The numbers tell the story – Ohio State puts up 36.0 points per game while Oregon averages 35.9, with both teams showing they can light up the scoreboard consistently.

Smart money agrees – this total opened at 52.5 before climbing to 55.5 as sharp bettors hammered the over. Their first meeting even left points on the field with a missed field goal and failed fourth-down try that could’ve pushed the total even higher.

Parlay Pick: Georgia ML vs Notre Dame

Wrapping up our New Year’s Day parlay, we’re rolling with the Bulldogs despite the QB change. Gunner Stockton proved he’s no ordinary backup by leading a clutch 22-19 overtime win against Texas in the SEC Championship. The former four-star recruit was the No. 7 quarterback in the 2022 class and has completed over 80% of his passes when called upon.

Kirby Smart’s postseason record speaks volumes – he’s built an incredible 9-2 mark in postseason games and hasn’t dropped a bowl game since the 2018 Sugar Bowl. That coaching edge matters even more in playoff games where preparation time is limited.

Notre Dame’s got problems up front with key tackle Rylie Mills out due to a knee injury. That’s a brutal loss against Georgia’s punishing ground game featuring the one-two punch of Nate Frazier and Trevor Etienne.

History isn’t on Notre Dame’s side either – they’ve played SEC teams 43 times and while they’ve won 26, they’ve struggled against the conference’s elite programs. Georgia owns the head-to-head series, suggesting another tough day ahead for the Irish.
