A new era for Man United… again

A new era for Man United… again

The big winners of Gameweek 11 were Liverpool, and once again Mo Salah outshone his FPL rivals, proving that despite a new hairline, he is still the same deadly forward. To think some people doubted him at the start of the season!

Pulling even further away at the top of the points leaderboard after rewarding the 51% who own him with another double points haul (14), the Egyptian king is now on 107 for the season.

Inconsistency remains a big factor for both Cole Palmer (84) and Erling Haaland (82), leading to questions over their £10.9 and £15.2m valuations when it comes to points per million. Are there better options available?

It was very Spursy at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, with Ange’s men losing 2-1 to Ipswich. 5.6m man Liam Delay delivered 11 points to the 4.7% who own him, outshining England’s 7.7m Dominic Solanke in the process. Delap owners might fancy more of the same this weekend as their side face a new look Manchester United who could set-up in a whole new system.

We called it in our Gameweek 11 preview as Bruno Fernandes bagged a goal and assisted twice delivering a season high of 17 points, plus Amad also registered an attacking return.

We were also spot on with goals for Cunha and misery for Villa… big pat on the back for us!

So, let’s have a gander into our crystal-ball again –  here’s our advice ahead of Gameweek 12…

New era, same old United

On paper, Ipswich away doesn’t sound like the hardest start for United in the Ruben Amorim era but coming up against a side which won at Spurs, former coach Kieran McKenna who will want to get one over on his ex-employer, former City striker Liam Delap who has been finding the net, and chucking a possible back-three into the mix, we expect a baptism of fire for poor Amorim.

Paddy’s Pro Tip: United to struggle at the back. Delap to deliver attacking returns for a second gameweek on the bounce.

Watkins to shoot down Eagles

They were poor in the weeks leading up to the international break, but we expect Unai Emery and his men have regrouped and will get back to winning ways against a very forgettable Crystal Palace side. I don’t know what it is about Palace this season, but they are booooring. What happened to the glory days of dancing Pardew’s Palace playing “street football”?

Paddy’s Pro Tip: Ollie Watkins to find the net and bag some bonus points for the first time since mid-October.

Mo points, Mo problem

Southampton are on a one-way street to relegation. It would take a miracle for the Saints to stay up. That miracle certainly isn’t coming against early season pace setters Liverpool.

Paddy’s Pro Tip: It could get embarrassing for Southampton. Salah for captain. Get all your Liverpool attacking assets in your side.

Forest to fall

They have been this season’s surprise outfit, but in Gameweek 11 Forest came very unstuck against a good Newcastle side. We expect quality to prevail at the Emirates with the Gunners almost at full strength.

Paddy’s Pro Tip: When Odegaard pulls the strings, Saka shines. It isn’t a coincidence Saka has been below par without his captain in the side. Star boy to offer a double-digit attacking return for the first time in five gameweeks.
