This year, all eyes are on The International viewership as Valve hopes to address the decline seen in recent years. Roughly halfway through the tournament, we’re taking a look to see how TI13’s viewership is ranking compared to previous iterations.
TI13 Viewership – Room for Improvement
Every day, Dota TI betting sites are offering live viewership for all of the TI action with various TI13 odds.
According to Esports Charts, here’s a look at the top five iterations of The International based on viewership:

Compared to last year’s TI statistics, which scored an average viewership of 541,240 and a peak viewership of 1,442,274, things are looking ordinary.
Considering that viewership is expected to peak towards the tail end of the bracket, it’s likely that TI13 viewership will be similar to last year.
The International 10 – So Long Ago
Actually, The International 10 was only three years ago.
Recording an average viewership of 857,343 and a peak of 2,741,514, TI13 doesn’t stand a chance to break the record. One factor here is that the TI13 prize pool is nowhere near the prize of the past.
We’ll have to wait for the TI13 Grand Final to see the full potential of The International viewership and compare it to the legacy of the tournament.
Perhaps an interesting storyline, such as an underdog making a surprising run in the Dota 2 TI bracket, could drastically bump up viewership.
