Liverpool’s Egyptian King has been in fine form this season scoring 8 goals and supplying 6 assists in the Premier League. He has scored or assisted in 10 of his last 12 games in all competitions so this looks like a great starting block for any bet builder.

Liverpool is a very short priced 1.22 to win this game and even if they only take the match 1-0 then there is a high likelihood that Salah is involved somewhere. He has been in brilliant form and the whole offense runs through him. He can give them the extra quality and class needed to unlock the Saints defence if needed.

Leg 2: Over 3.5 Cards

Southampton have obtained 39 cards this season in the Premier League which is the second most of any side in the division. It is often difficult for newly promoted teams due to their lack of quality so they need to compensate by making more fouls and combatting opponents.

Saints could cover an over 3.5 card line on their own here but Liverpool do average nearly two cards per game themselves in the Premier League and should be able to contribute.

Southampton are used to having large swathes of possession the fourth most of any team but might be in the unusual position of having to win the ball back more here, which might not bode well for their card count. Just to top things off, referee Samuel Barrott averages exactly six cards per game this season so taking over 3.5 looks pretty safe.

Leg 3: FlynN Downes To Commit 2+ Fouls

Southampton average the seventh most fouls in the Premier League and have racked up the second most cards. Flynn Downes tops their fouls chart averaging 1.80 per 90 mins. He is going to be in for a very tough afternoon against a high flying Liverpool team so taking him to have two or more fouls looks like a nice bit of value to add to any bet builder. T

he away side have several midfielders who are all fouled at least once on average, with Ryan Gravenberch top of that lost with double that mark. Alexis Mac Allister and Curtis Jones are also foul magnets, with inside forwards such as Mo Salah always likely to cut inside to Downes’ position. Two fouls as a bare minimum seems very possible for him.

Leg 4: Taylor Harwood-bELLIS tO coMMIT 1+ foULS

It was a dream senior England debut for Saints defender Taylor-Harwood Bellis against Ireland as he came off the bench to score a goal. He’s been in the news this week both on and off the field so knows that the spotlight is on him here. The former Man City man is a surprisingly big price just to commit a single foul or more at 1.62.

He averages exactly one foul per 90 mins which is on the high side for a centre back. He could feel under pressure here and make a mistake or give away a cheap free kick. Southampton are facing a strong Liverpool attack force with the likes of Mo Salah, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz all a proper handful. With an interchanging front three than he looks overpriced in this category and a nice bet builder addition.
