13.50 BetVictor Geoffrey Freer Stakes (Group 3)
AL QAREEM had AL AASY in behind when successful at this level at Ascot last year, and, having twice finished runner-up at this course, Karl Burke’s charge could be hard to beat. The latter, however, was subsequently impressive when winning at Glorious Goodwood and is feared most.
Tips: Al Qareem, Al Aasy
14.25 Play The BetVictor Predictor Now Handicap
THE BIG BOARD returned to form with an excellent second at Ascot last time out, and, being 8lb below her last winning mark, a repeat of her latest effort should see Richard Hannon’s filly go close. REINFORCE wasn’t able to land a hat-trick in Ireland last time out, but he should remain competitive, as should the grade-dropping MC LOVEN.
Tips: The Big Board, Reinforce, Mc Loven
15.00 TPT Fire Handicap
STARLORE looked a non-stayer in the Britannia Stakes last time out and should be much happier returning to this distance. His penultimate effort at Goodwood was eye-catching, to say the least, so it would come as no surprise to see him bounce back. Top-weight STREETS OF GOLD went close at Chepstow last week and is well-treated on last year’s form.
Tips: Starlore, Streets Of Gold
15.35 BetVictor Hungerford Stakes (Group 2)
KIKKULI was narrowly denied in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot on his penultimate outing, and despite only finishing sixth in a Group 1 race in France last time out, he is a big player back at this level. FOLGARIA shaped quite well when sixth in the Coronation Stakes last time out and is another to consider.
Tips: Kikkuli, Folgaria
16.05 British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes
There are plenty of interesting newcomers, so this is a difficult race to assess. However, COSMIC YEAR is related to several high-class winners, including Time Test, and could be tough to beat. INTO COMBAT can also go on the shortlist, given that he’s also related to several good horses.
Tips: Cosmic Year, Into Combat
16.40 Chapel Down Handicap
MAFNOOD produced a solid effort when third at Glorious Goodwood last time out and should be able to give another good account of himself off the same mark. TATATEO has been thereabouts in his last couple of starts and has William Buick in the saddle. He cannot be discounted.
Tips: Mafnood, Tatateo
