• German publisher Hans im Glück has a very non-HiG looking game due out in October 2024 for SPIEL Essen 24: Time Trouble, from designers Carlo A. Rossi and Alessandro Zucchini.
Here’s a briefing for this 2-4 player game that bears a twenty-minute playing time:
• While looking over Ravensburger‘s late 2024 release schedule, I see five types of releases:
— Disney Lorcana sets and a hundred accessories
— German editions of games already available in English, such as Oh My Pigeons!, Pam Walls‘ Chronicles of Light: Darkness Falls, Michael Mulvihill‘s Disney Villainous: Sugar and Spite, and Star Wars Villainous: Revenge at Last.
— New editions of older games, such as Scotland Yard, Michael Schacht‘s Scotland Yard Junior (which debuted in 2014), and One Piece Labyrinth.
— Special editions of long-lived Ravensburger titles to celebrate the company’s fiftieth anniversary of its “blue triangle” logo. Memory, for example, has triangular tiles instead of squares, with matching tiles showing artwork from the same Ravensburger title, e.g., Bugs in the Kitchen or Labyrinth. Lotti Karotti and Master Labyrinth also have special editions, but nothing triangular seems to have snuck into their gameplay.
— Spinoff titles of existing game lines, such as Jens Merkl‘s Werwölfe Kids — in which 2-6 players as young as 6 compete in two teams of werewolves and villagers, with the latter trying to find the former — and Andrew and Jack Lawson‘s Make ‘n’ Break: Around the World, which challenges players to stack blocks quickly to replicate famous buildings.
Maybe an alea title will pop up in the next six weeks prior to SPIEL Essen 24, but for now the titles above are what’s representative of Ravensburger’s releases in Germany.
