TRY THE MONEY shaped well when third here last time out and has possibilities on his chase debut if ready to go after a break. SHILLANAVOGY came close to winning on his chase debut last time out and must be thereabouts with more to come. BRIDGET MARY and MONTYS SOLDIER cannot be ruled out off their current marks in an open-looking contest.

BLUE LAS won two of her three bumper starts, and her latest beating of Walkadina is solid form, given the latter was last seen bolting up on her hurdle debut. Neil Mulholland’s filly will be seen to even better effect over today’s longer trip on her hurdle bow and should be hard to beat. I make her my best bet of the day!

14.00 Katchar Racing Novices’ Handicap Hurdle

LADY HARRIETT absolutely trounced her opposition when successful by seven lengths over C&D last time out. The application of cheekpieces clearly had a positive effect, as she travelled beautifully and picked up strongly when asked to go about her business. She has an excellent chance, while Henry Daly’s top-weight FRESH SPECULATION has made the frame on all three starts in handicap company and has stayed on well in each of those to suggest this extra yardage will be right up his street.

14.35 Connolly’s Red Mills Handicap Chase

The Evan Williams-trained LELANT is very well handicapped on the pick of his hurdles form and cannot be taken lightly. MY GRANNY LILLY has no weight on her back and should be fitter from her comeback run at Stratford, while the consistent ONE LAST GLANCE is another who could pose a serious threat.

15.10 Ffos Las Christmas Party Race Day Mares’ Handicap Hurdle

ELUSIVENESS performed well when runner-up on her handicap debut at Exeter on her final start of last season and will be fitter from her pipe-opener back at the same venue last time out. I can see her going really well, with the same applied to SANDA RENA, who should do better than last time.
